This Nayada-exclusive course teaches therapists how to effectively employ their knuckles, fists, forearms, elbows, knees, and feet with unique techniques that therapists and clients both love. Your built-in power tools can be wonderfully used on every part of the body, and techniques are easily incorporated into any massage routine.

Advanced Chair Massage
Registration Form
The massage chair is a powerful and frequently underutilized tool for providing therapeutic work for clients of all ages and physical abilities—without oils or lotions. In any location, massage therapists can offer treatments that reduce injury and increase flexibility while promoting their services. In this course, therapists learn combined elements of Thai Massage, Accupressure, therapist assisted stretching, and a variety of original percussion and rhythmic movements. Upon completion, therapists will be able to provide a 30 to 90 minute therapeutic chair massage.

Patrick Ingrassia will demonstrate his courses for the evening. Introducing us to different Thai courses as well as courses to enhance or massage treatments.
The fee for this evening will be $25 but can be used as a credit anytime in 2008 on courses offered at Family Massage Therapy Education Center. Please register soon for Friday’s Intro night.

Thai on the Table (24 Hours)

Add the spice of thai massage to your table routines! Save your wrists and thumbs with dynamic flowing movements, joint manipulation, rhythmic stretching and acupressure that embody this technique. This hands on workshop teaches specific skills therapists can integrate into an existing practice. This course includes discussion and demonstration of a typical routine, followed by step-by-step instruction of portions of the work which can readily be incorporated into table or floor treatments. This class is recommended for those unfamiliar with Thai Massage and is not a prerequisite for Thai Massage Certification.

Thai Herbal Stem Massage

Thai Herbal Stem Massage is a treatment that incorporates elements of Swedish relaxation massage, Lomi-Lomi, stretching techniques and Thai massage movements. The benefits are 2-fold; there is the deeply penetrating moist heat and the natural oils of the herbs that will release throughout the treatment.

Thai Stem is Natural, Organic and contains no preservatives or chemicals. The Herbal Stem massage differs because it combines soothing moist heat with therapeutic natural herbs and essential oils. Therapist Assisted Active Isolated Stretching (24 Hours)

Active Isolated Stretching is a technology designed to identify, isolate, and stretch chronically shortened muscles and can be easily incorporated into a table massage. This specific protocol increases flexibility and range of motion, tones and balances muscle groups, relieves muscle tension, reduces stiffness and pain, releases emotional stress, speeds physical rehabilitation, and improves athletic performance. This workshop will provide a fun and experiential approach to anatomy and AIS technology. You will learn the location, correct terminology, and a specific stretch for each muscle or muscle group in the body. Interface with health care professionals using appropriate anatomic terminology, improve your personal health, and add a valuable set of skills to your practice.

Stott Pilates Instructor Certification Course

Stott PilatesT is a systematic way to achieve optimal strength, tone, flexibility and posture. A contemporary approach to the mind-body teachings of Joseph H. Pilates, Stott Pilates emphasizes neutral spine, neutral pelvic alignment and their relationship to core stability and peripheral mobility. These hands-on courses will prepare you to teach the Stott PilatesT repertoire effectively and with confidence. The first course is the essential Mat-Plus course which will run over 3 weekends, 5 hours each day.
